Printed garments
Turn the garment inside out before washing. Cold water, gentle cycle, like colors. Tumble dry low or hang to dry. If you iron it, iron it inside out and never directly on the print. No bleach, no dry cleaning, and keep fabric softener off the print side — softener builds up on the ink and dulls it.
Garment-dyed pieces
Wash cold and separately for the first two or three washes. Garment-dyed cotton releases some dye early on. Expect about half a size of shrinkage after the first warm wash — that's the process, not a defect.
Embroidered hats
Spot clean only. A machine wash will collapse the structure and warp the brim. Cold water, mild soap, soft brush, air dry away from direct heat.
Treated properly, a direct-to-garment print will outlast the shirt it's on. Treated badly, it'll crack in a season.
